We need your help to improve services for First Nations bubs and families! 15 minute survey link follows!

18th November, 2024

The Queensland Cerebral Palsy and Rehabilitation Research Centre, Child Health Research Centre at the University of Queensland is partnering with local health services to deliver the LEAP (Learning through Everyday Activities with Parents) program https://qcprrc.centre.uq.edu.au/project/Leapcpindigenous.

This program aims to provide culturally safe early identification and family support for First Nations families who have a bub with a high chance of a neurodevelopmental disability. Leeann Mick-Ramsamy is an Aboriginal PhD student from Darwin who is leading the screening project with Dr Carly Luke (post-doc and physiotherapist), to develop a suite of resources (eg factsheets, training, glossary) to support clinicians to deliver this culturally safe screening (Baby Movement Checks) (supervised by Dr Kath Benfer, and Prof Roslyn Boyd). We would love to learn about your current knowledge, skills and training needs in this space. Would you be happy to complete this short de-identified online survey (QR code and weblink below)? It only takes about 10-15 minutes, and will inform the resource development to help improve the support for clinicians working with First Nations bubs. Further instructions are included at the start of the survey.
