Seeking interested speakers to partner with Taking Paediatrics Abroad
We have an amazing opportunity to share and learn together with our Pacific and PNG fellow therapists. The AusACPDM Pacific group is pairing with Taking Paediatrics Abroad https://www.takingpaediatricsabroad.org.au/ to deliver online sessions covering topics that have been identified by our Pacific and PNG colleagues. Sessions are organised by Dr Kathryn Currow, TPA Founder and Managing Director.
Sessions are delivered on zoom and occur at a time and date suitable to you!
Each session is about 45 minutes of presenting and 15 minutes of questions. Kathryn will guide presentations and will facilitate each session. Presenters need to consider the context and resources that will be available to these therapists in their talk. Please contact Gaela Kilgour if you want more information or would love to contribute: craigaela@gmail.com
Here are the topics that have been requested from therapists in Fiji, Honiara, and Port Moresby:
- Cerebral palsy – evidence based interventions, posture, low tone/hypotonia, spasticity (note: spasticity management will be covered in a separate topic by other presenters)
- Assessment tools and management of developmental delay
- Evidence-based interventions for hydrocephalus (in the Pacific these may be children who have not received shunts)
- Assessment tools used for children with Down Syndrome and management of Down Syndrome
- TB Meningitis
- Management of GBS
- Management of speech impairment in paediatrics
- Feeding Positioning for Children with Disabilities and Techniques to Teach Parents.
- Pelvic and Trunk Assessment for Children with Disabilities
