AusACPDM: Listening and Sharing Session November 2024

This interactive AusACPDM Listening and Sharing session will be about:

Research in low and middle income (LMIC) country settings. Growth in healthcare research capacity in LMIC settings will make important contributions to reducing healthcare challenges and disparities in LMIC countries. Locally led research has potential to propose, evaluate and translate culturally appropriate interventions and solutions, and at the same time, empower communities to articulate their needs and influence solutions. For this Listening and Sharing session, two PhD programs of work being conducted in LMICs will be presented.

This session will be of interest to clinicians, researchers, students and people with lived experience.  

Presenters include:  

Ms Thilini Madushika, “Cerebral palsy in western province Sri Lanka”. PhD candidate based Sri Lanka

Mr Anderson Mughogho, “The feasibility of implementing the GMA in the NICU of a referral hospital in Malawi-caregiver and professional perspectives”. PhD candidatebased in Malawi

Professor Alicia Spittle, University of Melbourne, who is part of the supervision of both PhD candidates will share her experiences of supporting research higher education in LMIC

The aim of our AusACPDM Listening and sharing sessions are to share knowledge, experiences and learnings. These will be held via zoom, and will be open to everyone (but registration numbers are limited!). Recordings of some of our sessions will be made available within the members only section of the AusACPDM website at a later date.
