Join us in our free listening and sharing session.
30th July 2025, 4:00pm – 5:00pm Australian Eastern Standard time
Topic information: This presentation provides a talk and discussion on:
People who use AAC are underrepresented in research and so their voices, issues and needs are not heard. One reason they are excluded from research is the confidence of researchers to meaningfully engage with AAC users. One Group Our Voice (AAC users themselves) and colleagues have developed a Toolkit containing information and resources for involving AAC users in research as participants and research partners. In this session they will orient listeners to issues in communicating with AAC users, describe accessible research and research methods, and examine the important issues of seeking fully informed consent and working with communication supporters.
Speakers: AAC users Brenton Ponza, Penny Manning, Brodie Shaw and Shirls Wong, and Jenna O’Brien
The session will be facilitated by: Shirls Wong
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
